As a trusted family breeder, we understand how important this decision is for you. That’s why we’re committed to keeping you informed every step of the way as you search for your future puppy.
When one of our breeding females has a confirmed pregnancy, we provide regular updates and communications so you can follow along on the journey, from the early stages of pregnancy until the puppies are ready to join their new homes. You'll receive timely announcements, photos, and milestone updates to help you feel connected, informed, and confident throughout the process.
Confirmed Pregnancy Announcement:
Once a pregnancy is confirmed, our website will be updated with the exciting news and the puppies' anticipated due date. If you've subscribed to our updates or submitted an application, you’ll also receive an email notification so you won’t miss a thing. We’re here to make this journey as transparent and joyful as possible as you prepare to welcome your new puppy home.
Pregnancy Progress:
We’ll share regular updates on the mother’s pregnancy through our website so you can follow along with the journey. In the rare event that unforeseen complications affect the mother or the litter, we will contact you directly. You’ll be given a full refund of your deposit. Your trust means everything to us, and we are committed to keeping you informed with honesty and care.
Birth Announcement:
When the puppies arrive, we’ll share the exciting news on our website and social media—complete with photos from their birth day. From there, you can look forward to weekly updates with pictures to watch the puppies grow and develop each step of the way. It’s our way of helping you feel connected to your future puppy right from the start.
Puppy Selection:
When puppies reach approximately three weeks of age, we will contact families in the order deposits were received (“Pick Order”) to schedule a meet-and-greet to choose your puppy.
Note: As the breeder, we reserve the right to retain first pick(s) from the litter.
Puppies will be examined and cleared by our veterinarian with a comprehensive physical exam and the first round of core vaccinations, typically at six to seven weeks of age. Vet clearance reports are shared directly with you to share with your veterinarian.
Transparency Commitment: If an unexpected health or structural concern is uncovered during the puppy examination, we will contact you immediately to review all clinical findings. You will have full autonomy to either move forward with your puppy or request an immediate, complete refund of your deposit.
Puppies Going Home:
At 8 weeks old, your puppy will be ready—and excited—to head to their forever home!
Puppies must be picked up during the week they turn 8 weeks old. A daily boarding fee will be applied for any additional days beyond that timeframe.
Pickups will occur at Robertson’s Retrievers & Doodles, or you can arrange for your puppy to travel to you. Please refer to our FAQs for more details about travel options.
You’ll be scheduled for a pickup time, during which we’ll answer any last-minute questions and provide you with a helpful go-home bag.
